“I live in that solitude which is painful in youth, but delicious in the years of maturity.”

~Albert Einstein

In times of extreme connectedness, we may find it hard to unwind in solitude.

Sometimes people can help guide you on your spiritual journey.

But sometimes you need to be alone to understand your world.

Stepping back in your life is not only a good thing, it’s the one thing that can make the difference.

5 Reasons Solitude is Good for the Soul

  • You find peace in solitude

When you are alone, you have the time to appreciate the smaller things in life.

So often we are too busy to enjoy what is in front of us.

Solitude changes our perspective from seeing what is going on the outside to what is going on the inside.

We share more gratitude with the universe in the present than we can ever find by running around in our busy lives.

  • You heal your wounds

Unwinding your emotions lets you heal them.

When we have negative experiences, the easiest route tells us to be busy or drown ourselves in substitutes like alcohol and drugs to forget it all.

Hiding our pain is our natural reaction toward regression.

However, you will find that the wound hasn’t been forgotten, only buried in the subconscious mind and lurking in the back of your head until the time for it to manifest in your life again.

When you are alone, you have time to process these thoughts and bring them to surface.

Only then can you begin to unwind and heal your wounds.

  • You avoid energy-draining people

It is better to be alone than to be with people who you are incompatible with, have no commonalities, and have no best interest in you.

The wrong crowd can drain your energy and make you feel lethargic by the end of the day.

We are made with different energy patterns and personalities.

Not everyone will be right for you.

When we avoid the wrong people, we are making a choice to bring the best people for us in our life.

As you remove yourself against those who steal your energy, you not only save your energy but also your sanity.

Alone time allows you to find your voice from the crowd of wrong people.

  • You get to Know Yourself

There is no better time to know yourself than to sit down with yourself.

Away from the high stimulation of modern society, your mind begins to organize all the thoughts that were hiding in the recesses of your mind from your experiences.

Solitude brings out the reflection in you.

When we reflect, we learn.

We feel more comfortable and confident of who we are.

We gain clarity and purpose of our life.

And of course, the best companion for us is no one other than ourselves.

Being alone helps you to be yourself.

  • Connect with your Higher Self

The quietness of solitude gives you ears to hear the voices of your Higher Self.

Because of the chattering thoughts of the mind, the master within cannot reach you.

Only when you are alone and away from the high stimulation can you go within.

Once there is emptiness in your mind and undisturbed in your environment, you will connect with your Higher Self and gain wisdom through intuition and inspiration.

Loneliness is Not Alone

Loneliness is a feeling.

You can be in crowds of people and still feel lonely.

Maybe you are alone, but you are not lonely.

You are never alone.

Although this statement seems contradictory, it is not.

You are life sharing with all the life around you – trees, rocks, crystals, water, air, animals, people, etc.

Everything that you can perceive through the 5 physical senses is alive even though they function in different ways.

Who knows, you may find your awakening in the moment of solitude.
