4 Questions to Ask When the Law of Attraction Isn’t Working

Have you ever been in the position of wanting to manifest something but it just isn’t showing up, despite your best efforts?  If the Law of Attraction isn’t working for you, there are a number of things that may be in your way. So, before you throw in the towel, here are a few things you can ask yourself to gain clarity on why the Law of Attraction isn’t working.

Here is a checklist of questions I ask myself when I am struggling to “get what I want.”  Feel free to use them the next time you find yourself wondering why the Law of Attraction isn’t working for you.

1. Are you free of limiting beliefs?

Limiting beliefs are a BIG reason why many of us struggle to receive the things we want in life.  Essentially, a limiting belief is an excuse we tell ourselves as to why we can’t have the things we want.

For example:

“I’m not thin because I eat junk food.”

“I can’t find a man because all of the good ones are taken.”

“I don’t have enough money for that.”

Always remember, with the Law of Attraction anything (yes, literally anything) is possible.  So you can lose weight and eat junk food.  You can find a good man anywhere.  Extremely expensive things can drop into your lap without you having to spend one red cent.

So, if you are struggling to manifest something, one of the first things I recommend you do is ask yourself: “are there any excuses I am making as to why I can’t have what I want?”

2. Are you letting the universe handle the details?

I must admit, I can be a bit of a control freak…so this is one of the areas I get hung up on from time to time.

Many of us have been bred to believe that we have to make things happen, and often, this gets in the way of things happening for us!  The Law of Attraction works the easiest when we release control and allow the universe to do its job.

There are an infinite number of ways that any dream can come true.  Picking the “right path” just isn’t a good job for us because we simply aren’t able to see how all of the moving parts are going to fit together.  However, the universe has a much broader view, and this is why it’s best to leave the details to the universe.

Remember, our job is just to ask, and then believe.  That’s it!

3.  Do you have a high vibration?

Perhaps you are letting the universe handle the details and you’ve eliminated all limiting beliefs.  However, if your vibration is running low, the things you want will stay out of reach.  Not sure how high your vibration is running?

Do your best to raise your vibration when you can, and you will manifest more of the things you want more easily.  Make an effort as often as you can to listen to upbeat music, smile, laugh and do the things you love.

Now, this isn’t to say that you aren’t allowed to be sad when you are sad.  Of course you are, and of course you will be from time to time!  In fact, when you are sad, it’s always best to embrace the pain in order to overcome it as quickly as possible.

A lowered vibration is a temporary state that can be overcome.  Allow your vibration to be what it  is without judging or guilting yourself, but make it a goal to take daily steps to improve it when you feel up to the task!

4. Have you let go yet?

This is often the trickiest piece of the puzzle for most people I’ve spoken with about the Law of Attraction.  When we are hung up on “having to have” the things we want, we actually create resistance and push them away from us.

Here’s the thing, when we have something, we don’t worry about when it’s going to come to us, right?  So, if you have a best friend, you aren’t worried about not having a best friend.  You are in the resonance of having a best friend because you are not focused on the absence of a friend.

Therefore, when we don’t have something we want, we must find a way to make peace with the absence of it.  In fact, the moment we truly let go and tell ourselves “it’s ok if this never comes to me,” is often the exact moment it shows up.

It’s a bit of a paradox, I know.  But letting go is one of the most important keys to mastering the Law of Attraction.

If you struggle with this part of the equation, start to look for evidence of this paradox in your life.

For example, notice that when you give up looking for your keys suddenly they appear right in front of you.  Become aware of the times when you stop trying so hard to win over someone’s affections and suddenly they are nicer to you.  These things happen to all of us, often on a daily basis, so there is plenty of evidence out there to observe and acknowledge.

In becoming more aware of this phenomenon, it will become easier and easier for you to really let go on each of your intentional manifestations.  Suddenly, releasing expectation and going with the flow become the more logical decisions in life.

So remember, when something isn’t manifesting, go through this checklist of questions.  Are you free of limiting beliefs, are you letting the universe handle the details, are you in a high vibrational space and have you made peace with its absence yet?  If you can honestly say “yes” to each of these questions, your dream will be a reality (and probably already is!).

I hope you find these tips useful.  Are there any other strategies you use to find success when the Law of Attraction isn’t working for you?  Share your ideas below in the comments!

I love the article but through my own experience I’d change the line “It’s ok if it never comes to me”, ’cause for some people this actually play as a limiting belief. I’d change that personally for “I already have it”. I do this all the time when I can’t remember or find something. I just say to myself when I see I’m trying to hard to find something I can’t remember where I put, “I’ll remember where it is later” and relax, I let go of trying too hard to find the thing. Then later it suddenly comes to my mind where it was or it just appears. It’s a simple day to day thing that happens but my point is that giving up is not the same as letting go.
